Arts & crafts

Summer Art Camps: Held through Aug. 4, Walk In Art Center, 220 Parkway, Schuylkill Haven. Especially for kids in fourth and fifth, and sixth through eighth grades. Camps are three hours long for five days, and students will experience art techniques and cultures from around the world. Information: 570-732-3728.

Fired up Ceramics: For seniors and veterans 62 and up, at the Walk In Art Center every Friday, 1 to 3 p.m. Make pottery or sculptures. All supplies provided. A $6 donation is requested to help defer the cost. Information: 570-732-3728.

Clay Haven: Walk in Art Center, Monday and Thursday, 6 to 8:30 pm $40 per month or $7 per evening, with a minimum of two evenings. Clay must be purchased through the art center. Information: 570-732-3728.

Garden Gathering: Saturday, Aug. 27, 10 am to 2 pm, next door to the First United Church of Christ, 110 Route 61 South, Schuylkill Haven at Vietnam Memorial lot. Tour the Master Gardeners’ demo garden, buy a bouquet, taste baked and prepared foods made from locally grown produce and learn about basic beekeeping from the Honey for Veterans program.
